## A New Story in a New Body
In Mega Man X Regenesis, the player takes on the role of Mega Man X, who awakens in a new body in a world threatened by a huge force of Mavericks. The game takes place in the far, far future of 20XX, where humans and human-like robots known as Reploids are living together in peace. However, corrupt Reploids known as Mavericks have gone rogue, choosing to hunt down humans and make the world solely for Reploids.
## Classic Mega Man X Gameplay
The gameplay in Mega Man X Regenesis is a nostalgic return to the classic Mega Man X universe, with a 2D action-platformer romp that still has the trademark Mega Man difficulty. The player must run, jump, dash, and shoot their way through all sorts of hostile robot enemies and past numerous hazards. Each area culminates in a one-on-one fight with the Maverick leader and a chance to get a new power.
