Sonic, Brawl Stars, and More: August Collabs
Sonic the Hedgehog joins Fortnite's Season 4, Brawl Stars partners with adidas, and a host of other cross-overs hit mobile games this month.

Sonic the Hedgehog has entered Fortnite’s Chapter 7 Season 4, while Brawl Stars has teamed up with adidas Originals for a new apparel line, and a variety of other cross-overs are active across mobile titles this month, according to Pocket Gamer.

Fortnite’s latest season, Override, brings a roster of nostalgic characters into the battle royale. Sonic the Hedgehog is the main feature of the battle pass, accompanied by a Tails sidekick. A dedicated Green Hill Zone area appears on the island, recreating familiar loops and speed-trap mechanics from the Sonic series. The season also adds Pac-Man, Persona 5 Royal, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, and Mega Man’s Mega Buster as an in-game weapon, with further additions expected later in the cycle.
Brawl Stars meets adidas
Brawl Stars has announced a collaboration with adidas Originals titled “The Starr Drop Unlocked.” The partnership brings a new apparel and footwear collection inspired by characters Spike, Leon, Edgar, and Nita. Players can purchase character-led hoodies, tees, tracksuits, and special-edition Samba and Superstar trainers. The first drop is available now, and a second release is planned for 2027.
Other notable collabs
The month also hosts several other cross-overs. Nikke’s “Persona on Frontline” event brings characters from Persona 3 Reload, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal into the mobile RPG, offering new playable heroes, costumes, a story event, a mini-game and login rewards until September 10th. Dragonfire celebrates the end of House of the Dragon Season 3 with a limited-time event that re-introduces the season’s dragons and rewards tied to watching the show on HBO Max.
McDonald’s UK and Ireland has partnered with Xbox to launch a game-inspired menu featuring franchises such as Halo, Fallout, Forza Horizon, Overwatch, World of Warcraft and Candy Crush. Fans can use McDonald’s app reward points to unlock exclusive in-game items across participating titles.
AFK Journey marks the 27th anniversary of Digimon with a crossover that brings Taichi Yagami, Yamato Ishida, Agumon and Gabumon into the game’s storybook style. Digimon Up also adds characters Inori and Aegiomon from Digimon Story: Time Stranger, granting HP and crit buffs.
Talking Tom & Friends introduces a Smurf Village, complete with familiar characters and new fashion items, continuing a trend of partnering with long-standing IPs. Marvel Strike Force runs “Webs Assemble,” a month-long event featuring Spider-Man content, a 40-floor Mega Tower, and a final battle with Scorpion, offering a Spider-Man costume inspired by Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Blood Strike launches a new Human vs Titan battle royale mode, featuring Attack on Titan heroes and Titans such as Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman, Levi, the Armored Titan and the Beast Titan. The mode includes ODM gear for humans and giant attacks for Titans.
Honor of Kings introduces Dan Da Dan, a popular Japanese anime, with a special opening animation, limited-time events, collaboration skins and an exclusive rewards shop. The partnership arrives ahead of the anime’s third season slated for 2027.
Farmville 3 celebrates World Cat Day on August 8th with a four-week “A Home for Every Kitten” campaign that lets players rescue kittens, craft tools and upgrade a rescue base. Zynga partners with Dots.eco to support pet rescue initiatives, with in-game purchases contributing to the Dots.eco Support Rescued Pets initiative and certificates sent to 5,000 participants.
Monster Walk: Survive teams with Six Wing Studios to add the self-care pet Amaru, a winged feline that joins players on walking journeys and provides a Wing Guard skill. The collaboration emphasizes healthy habits and mental well-being.
Players can earn a Spider-Man costume directly inspired by Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
