Frontier Developments has released the Jurassic World Evolution 3: Prehistoric East DLC. The expansion launched on September 29, 2026, introducing five new dinosaur species from Asia and a vast collection of East Asian-inspired scenery and decorations.

Developed in collaboration with Universal, the DLC requires the base game and is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A substantial free update, version 1.5.0, was released simultaneously for all players, adding a returning dinosaur and major new park attractions.

The Prehistoric East DLC introduces five new dinosaur species: Nanshiungosaurus, Gobisaurus, Yangchuanosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, and Tarbosaurus. The pack includes complete family units for several species. It also adds over 230 decorative items inspired by East Asian architecture and aesthetics.

These include bronze dragon statues, marble guardian lions, colorful paper lanterns, and lotus flowers. Fifteen pre-built pagoda and walled garden layouts are provided. A new decorative element is the animated holographic dinosaur statue, which can display iconic dinosaur animations and be placed individually or incorporated into custom blueprints.

Update 1.5.0 brings free features including new dinosaur and building tools

Accompanying the DLC is the free Update 1.5.0. It reintroduces the Carcharodontosaurus as a fully remodeled complete family unit, available in Sandbox mode. The update also adds new weather control options for Sandbox parks.

The headline addition is the Walkway Attraction. This system allows players to build custom elevated pathways for guests. Walkways can pass over land, lagoons, and dinosaur enclosures. They feature adjustable height and can be built with straight or curved sections.

Details on new species and their in-game behaviors

Each new dinosaur has distinct traits and behaviors. The five species consist of two herbivores and three carnivores.

Frontier stated that creating the Nanshiungosaurus required filling in gaps in the limited fossil record, with its feathering influenced by birds like the golden pheasant. The team described Yangchuanosaurus as a bit more cerebral in its approach compared to other large theropods. Gobisaurus was noted as being relatively relaxed but a little bit belligerent.

Platform availability and launch details confirmed

The Prehistoric East DLC and Update 1.5.0 both arrived on September 29, 2026. They are available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Ownership of the Jurassic World Evolution 3 base game is required to play the DLC content.

Players can now access the Prehistoric East DLC and Update 1.5.0 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
