Microsoft's Xbox Nano Controller is available for pre-order now and will launch globally on November 4th. The compact gamepad is priced at $49.99 USD and £44.99, targeting mobile and cooperative gaming.

The controller will be available in dozens of countries at launch. These include Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Czechia, Denmark, the Dominican Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Guatemala, Hong Kong SAR, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Trinidad & Tobago, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Design and technical features

The Xbox Nano Controller is the smallest and lightest Xbox controller ever made. It measures just over 5 inches long (12.7 cm) and weighs only 3.5 ounces (99 grams). Microsoft described it as 'designed to fit nearly every pocket and budget.'

Despite its size, it packs the full suite of 18 standard Xbox inputs. It includes a programmable Action Button for functions like taking screenshots, recording clips, and setting frequent shortcuts. For connectivity, it supports both Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth, and it charges via a USB-C port. The integrated battery is rechargeable.

The controller's compatibility is broad. It works with Xbox consoles, Windows PCs, iOS and Android smartphones, and some smart TVs.

Target audience and use cases

The Nano Controller is designed for younger players and users with smaller hands. Its pocketable form factor makes it ideal for on-the-go gaming outside the home. Microsoft is also marketing it for local cooperative play. It is positioned as a perfect accessory for split-screen multiplayer in titles like Minecraft Dungeons II and Forza Horizon 6.

Pricing and promotional offers

Priced at $49.99, the Nano Controller is notably more affordable than Microsoft's standard Xbox Wireless Controller. A promotional bundle is also available. Purchases of participating Samsung TVs will include an Xbox Nano Controller and a two-month subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The controller was announced by Microsoft via its Xbox Wire channel. XBOX México promoted the launch on October 14, 2026, stating, "Lleva tus juegos favoritos a donde quieras con el nuevo XBOX Nano Controller, tan compacto que cabe en tu bolsillo." The Xbox Nano Controller will be available on November 4th and is available to pre-order now.
