Miniclip was the top earner from mobile game advertising in the United States for July. Learnings placed second with $42.7 million, a 3.4 percent increase, while Tripledot took third with $40.3 million.

The data, reported by Mobilegamer.biz, shows arrow-themed puzzle games were the major download driver last month. These titles combined for more than 53 million installs worldwide across different publishers.

Top Performers and Market Moves

Miniclip's Arrow Puzzle: Tap Puzzle Games led with 19.3 million installs. Learnings' Amaze GO! followed with 11.9 million installs. Miniclip's Arrows Puzzle Escape secured 11.4 million installs and was also Miniclip's top ad revenue earner at $6.6 million.

Tripledot's position came after it closed its acquisition of Supersonic from Unity on August 4. For Learnings, the Vita Mahjong game supplied just under half of its total ad revenue. You can explore more industry fixtures and publisher squad movements on our site.

The 'Smash' Puzzle Trend Accelerates

A separate trend around 'smash' puzzle games is spreading quickly. Data from AppMagic shows 70 new games with 'smash' in the title have launched this year. Nearly 50 of those have appeared since June.

Major publishers like Moon Active, Azur Games, Supercent, and Tripledot are all now testing similar titles. One example, Cypher Games' Royal Smash - Physics Puzzle, was released in July. It has already achieved 9 million installs and generated $1 million in revenue.

Funding and Financial Results

Several companies announced new funding rounds. Makers Fund raised another $250 million. Surge raised $3 million to build AI-powered puzzle games. Browser games platform Entity raised $5.8 million in a round backed by ACT, Delta Partners, and Elkstone, with support from Enterprise Ireland.

Entity was founded by the team behind Digit, developer of Star Trek Fleet Command. Scopely acquired Digit in 2019. Entity plans to launch its platform in early 2027.

Ten Square Games posted its second-quarter financial results. Bookings rose 14.6 percent year-on-year to $25.3 million. This took its first-half 2026 bookings to $52 million. The company's adjusted EBITDA rose 13.5 percent quarter-on-quarter to $5.8 million.

The group also launched Medal Hunter globally on July 30. It is the second title in the group's shooter line built around Trophy Hunter. In June, direct-to-consumer sales made up 24 percent of group bookings. That figure reached 33 percent specifically in Fishing Clash.
