Where Winds Meet reaches 100 million players

NetEase Games and Everstone Studio announced that the action martial arts RPG Where Winds Meet has surpassed 100 million players worldwide. The team confirmed the launch of Hidden Mountain Chapter 3, the narrative conclusion of the Hidden Mountain story, for September 16 to celebrate the milestone.

This update will feature a direct confrontation with Qianye, the mastermind behind the tragedy at Blissful Retreat that began the protagonist's journey. It will also add two special story bosses, two open-world field bosses, new activities, and a prelude to the game's version 2.0 with the Jianghu expansion.

Cinematic Advisory, New Combat Style, and Extraction Mode

The production continues to strengthen its martial arts component with technical additions and gameplay innovations.

Legendary action choreographer Yuen Woo-ping has joined the project as Global Action Consultant. He is known for films like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Matrix, and The Grandmaster. His work adds to the previous collaborations with directors like Stephen Tung Wai.

A new martial arts set, Bamboo Cut - Draught, will debut on September 3. This discipline is inspired by the classic Jackie Chan film Drunken Master, combining powerful impacts with the unpredictable movements of a drunken master.

The title will soon integrate a tactical extraction mode set in Wuxia folklore where players can loot treasures through stealth or close combat. Furthermore, the Ghost Month event, focused on Chinese atmospheric horror, is already active.

As part of its presence at the German fair, the project was officially nominated in the Best Mobile Game category for the gamescom Awards 2026.

With 100 million users and a roadmap blending the cinematic tradition of Asian action cinema with modern competitive modes, Where Winds Meet solidifies its position as a leading ARPG on consoles, PC, and mobile devices. The community is now discussing the addition of Yuen Woo-ping and the new combat style inspired by Jackie Chan.
