Honor of Kings generated over $150 million in player spending during August, reclaiming its position as the top-grossing mobile game. The title's performance, based on Appmagic estimates for in-app purchase revenue, placed it well ahead of its closest competitor.
Gossip Harbor achieved its best-ever monthly revenue, pulling in over $112 million to secure second place. This marked the first time the merge puzzle game from Microfun has led the chasing pack behind the long-term market leader.
The Top Tier Earners
All of the top five mobile games broke the $100 million in-app purchase barrier in August. PUBG Mobile and Royal Match both grew their earnings slightly from July, allowing them to leapfrog Roblox, which saw a small dip. Whiteout Survival, in sixth place, declined for the fifth consecutive month, falling from nearly $115 million in March to about $97 million in August.
Scopely's Monopoly Go had its best month for player spending since January, earning $95 million. The report notes this figure does not include revenue from the game's separate webshop. Candy Crush Saga is recovering from a sudden June dip, earning about $86 million in August, though this remains below its typical first-half 2026 performance.
Steady Performers and Volatile Titles
Century's Kingshot showed remarkable consistency, posting earnings just under $80 million for the third month in a row. In contrast, Konami's eFootball experienced a sharp drop. Its revenue fell to $58 million in August after hitting a record $69 million in July, a surge attributed to World Cup fever.
Japanese players suddenly started spending big again in Fate/Grand Order, pushing it up 31 places month-on-month to 16th position. Meanwhile, Tencent's China-only version of Valorant Mobile performed strongly, generating nearly $38 million from iOS players in China alone.

Notable Movers Outside the Top 20
Several titles made significant gains just below the main chart. Pokémon TCG Pocket jumped 12 places, earning nearly $30 million. QualiArts' Hololive Dreams continued to gather pace, rising 14 places to nearly $29 million. After a revival in July, Hoyoverse's trio of titles all dropped in the rankings for August. Both Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail fell eight spots, earning around $24 million and $23 million respectively. Zenless Zone Zero slipped one place, generating nearly $20 million in player spending.
