Pokémon Unite: Zeta Division's Final Victory
The Japanese team Zeta Division claimed the Pokémon Unite world title with a 3-1 series win over the French squad Komaï. Their victory earned them a $100,000 prize.
This marks the final time the Pokémon Unite title will be awarded at the World Championships. Starting next year, it will be replaced by the Aeos Crown Tokio circuit, a five-month international tournament featuring 32 teams.
Pokémon GO: Mobile Battle to the Wire
In the Pokémon GO final, Japanese player GGs489hiromaru defeated Swiss competitor MEweedle 3-2 in a match marked by multiple pauses, result reviews, and restarted battles. MEweedle won the first series to force a bracket reset, but GGs489hiromaru clinched the second series dramatically.
GGs489hiromaru, competing at Worlds for the first time, used a team of Jellicent, Lickilicky, Hippowdon, Shadow Ninetales, Hisuian Electrode, and Tinkaton. The Masters Division of the Pokémon TCG final saw American player Andrew Hedrick defeat Argentina's Diego Cassiraga, the 2017 world champion, by a score of 2-0. Cassiraga played an Alakazam deck seeking a second title, but Hedrick's aggressive Dragapult deck, utilizing cards like Crushing Hammers, secured the 2026 crown and a $50,000 prize.
Pokémon VGC: An All-Japanese Final
The VGC Masters final was an all-Japanese affair between Hiroshi Onishi and Takuma Yamazaki. Yamazaki emerged victorious with a 2-1 series win, taking home $30,000. He won the first game, Onishi tied it 1-1, forcing a decisive third game which Yamazaki won.
