Techland is celebrating the first anniversary of its mobile survival game Dying Light: The Beast with a major community event. The developer has announced three weeks of in-game festivities, historic price cuts, and a partnership to release physical PS5 editions.
Physical PS5 Editions for Collectors
Responding to player requests, Techland has partnered with publisher Super Rare Games to release the game on disc for PlayStation 5. All three announced editions include the international shipping and the Definitive Version of the game, which contains every update released to date. Pre-orders open on September 18 directly on the Super Rare Games portal.
| Edition | Key Features | Availability |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | PS5 disc and manual. | Open pre-order with no unit limit. |
| Super Rare Games Edition | Game, manual, exclusive metal slipcase, official sticker, and exclusive SRG numbering. | Limited units. Pre-order period ends October 16. |
| Anniversary Edition | Software plus a selection of physical collectibles set in Castor Woods. | Limited run. Pre-order period ends October 16. |
Three Weeks of Anniversary Events
The in-game celebrations formally begin with a double XP weekend running from September 18 to 21. Following this, the three-week community campaign "The Call of the Beast: Anniversary Edition" will start.
During this period, the community can cooperate to achieve global goals and vote for weekend modifiers. Reaching the weekly objectives will unlock commemorative items like a special outfit and a themed weapon. Additionally, daily "Anniversary Crane Drops" will grant digital gifts and consumables just for logging in, plus an exclusive weapon every Friday.
Also, from September 17 to 24, all users can claim the Discharge weapon pack for free from Steam, the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox Store.
Historic Discounts and Franchise Sale
For players who have not yet tried the game, Techland has applied a 50% discount across all digital platforms. This marks the game's lowest historical price and is available until September 26. For enthusiasts seeking the complete experience, the Franchise Bundle-which includes Dying Light, Dying Light 2 Stay Human, and Dying Light: The Beast-has a discount of up to 70% during the same period.
The source for this announcement is a report from IGN Latin America. The total production quantity for the limited Super Rare Games and Anniversary editions will be confirmed after the pre-order window closes on October 16.
