Konami Digital Entertainment has announced Yu-Gi-Oh! TAG FORCE GX, a full remake of the role-playing card game Yu-Gi-Oh! GX TAG FORCE 3. The title is scheduled for release on February 16, 2027 and will be available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, with pre-orders open now.

The remake promises modernized graphics and enhanced dueling mechanics. It will feature over 3,800 cards, including the original roster plus additional fan-favorite cards for deck building. Players will revisit their final year at Duel Academy, master Tag Duel mechanics, and choose a partner from a roster of over 100 visually upgraded characters.

Game features and modes

Beyond the core duel experience, the game will include an explorable Duel Academy with new and renewed minigames. A dedicated online multiplayer mode will allow for Casual Duels or the creation of custom rooms for both one-on-one and team-based duels. The game will also feature a Gallery Mode where players can relive story moments from the first two Tag Force GX titles.

Pre-order bonuses and editions

Pre-order incentives vary by platform. According to Konami, those who pre-order on the Nintendo eShop for Switch or Switch 2 will receive a code for Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL in regions where that game is available. This code unlocks digital versions of three special cards and the Winged Kuriboh duel mate. Steam pre-orders will include exclusive wallpapers and icons.

Physical editions for the Nintendo Switch platforms will include three exclusive Trading Card Game (TCG) cards. Two of these cards are receiving their first-ever physical print nearly two decades after appearing in the anime.

Digital and physical content

The Steam version of the game will include a digital book about the game's world. Konami's announcement confirms the game is a nostalgic return to the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX era with updated systems. The developer states the game is "recreated from" the original Tag Force 3, aiming to blend classic card play with contemporary presentation. The report confirms all details are based on the official announcement from Konami Digital Entertainment.
