Pokémon Go Tops Revenue Charts After Go Fest Events
Pokémon Go generated an estimated $44.2 million in the first week of September, making it the top-grossing mobile game.

Pokémon Go was the top-grossing mobile game worldwide during the first week of September. According to data from AppMagic reported by PocketGamer.biz, the game earned an estimated $44.2 million from player spending across the Google Play and Apple App Store platforms.
This latest revenue spike continues a trend from the summer, which included the game's 10th anniversary and the Go Fest 2026: Global event in July. The event helped push Pokémon Go back into the top 10 highest monthly earners for that month.
Go Fest 2026: Mega Ascension
Developer Scopely Explore continued the celebrations with the Pokémon Go Fest 2026: Mega Ascension event, which ran from August 31st to September 4th. The event featured themed wild Pokémon, Raids, time-limited research, and exclusive moves. The daily limit for Remote Raid Passes was also increased, allowing players to spend more premium currency on Legendary Pokémon battles.
Daily spending across the major app stores increased by 73% on the event's first day, reaching $6.1 million. The event concluded on September 4th, again generating $6.1 million in daily revenue.
The Mega Finale Surge
The celebration culminated with the Pokémon Go Fest 2026: Mega Finale over the weekend of September 5th and 6th. Players could face powerful Mega Raids and encounter Mega Mewtwo by purchasing Raid Tickets. The event also marked the return of Armoured Mewtwo for the first time since 2020, a version of the Legendary Pokémon exclusive to Pokémon Go and inspired by the Mewtwo Strikes Back - Evolution movie.
Spending accelerated further during this finale. Daily revenue jumped 66% to $10.1 million on September 5th. An additional $9.6 million was generated when the event concluded on September 6th.
The combined effect of these events helped Pokémon Go generate its reported $44.2 million for the week. The United States was the largest contributor with $19.3 million, followed by Japan at $11 million. The data does not account for direct-to-consumer web shop revenue, ads, or alternative Android store sales, meaning the total is likely higher.
The Weekly Rankings
The revenue surge propelled Pokémon Go to the top of the charts for four days, including three consecutive days starting September 5th. The AppMagic data for the first week of September shows how other major titles performed.
