OUTERPLANE is now celebrating its Steam release, opening the fantasy world of Mirsha to a new group of players. According to a guide from Pocket Gamer, new players will encounter a renewed opening story and tutorial where they enter the world as an Earthling who falls from the sky into a dungeon.

There, they meet characters Luna, Delta, Lambda, and Viella. The player character possesses a mysterious power called a Quirk, which can awaken a companion's potential. After witnessing this, Luna recruits the player to join her group at the Ark Lemegeton, beginning a larger journey across Mirsha.

Advance the Story and Reap the Rewards

The guide advises new players to push through the main story initially, ideally until Story Season 1 Normal 3-5. This progression unlocks many of the game's core systems, including daily activities, farming stages, gear upgrades, and Event Stories. Playing through Event Stories is highlighted as a valuable way to earn experience and items while learning about characters not yet obtained.

The early-game experience is described as extremely generous, with a steady stream of summon currency and upgrade materials coming from story rewards, beginner missions, login bonuses, and events. The guide states that progressing the story instead of hoarding resources is the correct decision for new players.

Use Auto-Battle to Gauge Strength

OUTERPLANE features an auto-battle function. The guide recommends using it not only for convenience but as a tool to measure enemy strength. If a team can clear a stage comfortably on auto, the player is likely well-positioned for that content. When auto-battle starts to fail, battles take too long, or heroes begin dropping, it is a sign to take manual control.

Manual play allows players to learn about skill timing, buffs, debuffs, priority targets, and enemy mechanics. Auto-battle is best for routine progression and farming, while manual play teaches why a team succeeds or fails.

Syncing Elements is Groovy

The game uses a five-element system: Fire, Water, Earth, Light, and Dark. The guide notes that while players can compose teams freely, experimenting with heroes that work well together elementally can provide useful advantages in battle. The right elemental matchup can make a noticeable difference in harder stages.

Players are advised not to feel pressured to build every elemental team immediately. Instead, they should experiment with the heroes they have, learn advantageous matchups, and gradually expand their roster.

Don't Let Syncing Dominate Strategy

While elemental synergy is powerful, the guide warns it has a major downside: inadaptability. A team composed entirely of one element is limited by their effects. Therefore, players also need to consider forming a diverse, balanced team that can adapt to various enemies.

Differing character classes can sometimes make more of a difference than differing elements, especially when the player has no significant weaknesses against enemy groups. The guide recommends a beginner team setup of one Healer, one Damage Dealer, one Flex Slot (for another DPS or Tank), and one Crit Support character, naming Valentine, Skadi, or Tamara as examples for the last role.

Examine your Enemies

OUTERPLANE provides detailed pre-battle information for each mission. The guide emphasizes using this data, which includes the foe's type, element, class, stats, and skills. With this knowledge, building the best team becomes a puzzle. If a stage is troublesome, players should consider if they need more healing, a different damage type, stronger debuffs, better elemental coverage, or improved skill timing before simply leveling up the same heroes.

**Make Friends**

The game features many heroes, and unlocking them all takes time. The guide points out that players can support each other through the friend system, lending heroes to friends for eligible battles. This can help players progress when they lack a specific powerful hero. Borrowing unfamiliar heroes is also a handy way to test their performance before investing resources to obtain or build them.

**Take Advantage of Seasonal Heroes**

The guide notes that OUTERPLANE regularly introduces powerful seasonal heroes who often become fan favorites. It advises players to look at what each new seasonal hero adds to their account and whether they fill a missing role, rather than treating every one as a must-have.

The current lineup of seasonal heroes includes:

Out of this group, Mystic Sage Ame is generally considered one of the best PvE characters in the game. Her kit includes multi-turn attacks, fixed damage, and consistent debuffs, which the guide says translates to making difficult content significantly less annoying. For players unsure who to aim for first, Ame is cited as a safe choice because she remains useful well beyond the early game.
